10 Days Uganda Cultural Safari.

TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe Airport

When you arrive at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by the company’s guide who will then transfer you to your accommodation. Dinner and Overnight at Hotel Africana (F/B)

Day 2: Travel to Fortportal

After breakfast in the morning, you will be briefed by the guide and begin the journeyTooro Palace - Fortportal from Kampala to the west of Uganda via Mubende having lunch en route. The route travels through breathtaking scenery and delightful rolling tea plantations, arriving at Fort Portal in the evening. Overnight at a luxurious Ndali Safari Lodge (FB)

Day 3: Kibale National Park and Guided Walk

Following a good breakfast, you will go to Kibale Forest National Park home of habituated Chimpanzees – it harbors 12 species of Primates and provides one of the highest Primates densities in the world! Here on a guided walk, you may find families of Chimps and Red Colobus Monkeys. After you will have the opportunity to go for a guided walk through Bigodi Swamp. Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary is managed by the Kibale Association for Rural and Environmental organization which was formed in 1992 with the aim of achieving social and economic development for local communities. You will then be taken around the swamp for a guided walk. This area harbours approximately 137 bird species which include the Snowy Headed Robin Cat, Black and White Casqued Hornbill, Emerald Cuckoo and a variety of Weavers, Warblers, Greenbuls and Sunbirds. There's also an abundance of Butterflies. It's also rich in vegetation, such as wild palms, polita figs and the dominant papyrus. Overnight at a luxurious Ndali lodge (FB)

Day 4: Visit to the Royal Tombs and Village Walks

You will wake up for an early breakfast and leave for Fort portal to visit the Kings Royal tombs known as Karambi Tombs. You will also visit various cultural groups which include the Burungu community, rooted in Traditional Toro culture that will entertain you with music, dancing and story telling.You will spend the whole day with the local community and on village walks and return to the lodge in the evening. Overnight at a luxurious Ndali lodge (FB).

Day 5: Travel to Semliki

Hotsprings - Semuliki Forest You will depart early and hit the road to Semliki Valley Wild Life Reserve. The valley is known as the "Garden of Eden" and has a magnificent view of the River Semliki meandering to Lake Albert. You will stop to visit a local farmer and have a tour of his farm then take a picnic lunch. You will spend the evening on a forest walk in the tropical Rain Forest of Semliki Wildlife Reserve.Overnight at Semliki Safari Lodge (FB)

Day 6: Community Tour

After breakfast, you'll visit a local community in the foothills of the Rwenzoris - the people in the area are looking forward to welcome and entertain you. After touring the area, you'll visit the local Witch Doctor at his home, take lunch at the Kamugha Rest House and enjoy entertainment provided by the Bakonjo and Batoro; you will visit the local women's group who make artifacts and give to the community.
Dinner and overnight at Semliki Safari Lodge (FB)

Day 7: Wildlife Game Viewing Safari

Early morning, you will go for a game drive and later leave for Kampala. You will have lunch enroute and arrive in the early evening.
Over night at Hotel Africana (F/B).

Day 8: Travel to Jinja

After breakfast, the guide will meet you at the hotel and drive to Jinja. You will make a stop over at Namugongo Martyrs shrine, and then proceed to Ssezibwa falls. Incase time allows you will have a quick stop at Mabira forest for Jjajja Bujjagalithose who love bird watching. It takes about 3 hours to get to the Source of the Nile because of the stops you have to make. You will explore the Nile and later drive up to Jinja Nile resort hotel and have lunch. You will relax abit at the hotel and have a swim if you want, then drive to the Spectacular Bujagali Falls. You will see how those people rafting are able to safely conquer the most challenging rapids, you will watch the local fishermen and the fantastic bird life. We may later go for a brief tour around Jinja town and have a look at those old beautiful colonial buildings. You will depart for Kampala in the evening. Over night at Hotel Africana.

Day 9: Cultural Tour

In the morning, the guide will meet you at the hotel at around 8.00am and drive through Kampala, to Nakawuka a small village found in Mpigi District. This is a unique journey in the history of Uganda. You will meet the local people and experience a rich and authentic culture; you will learn about the past times and come face to face with the ancient traditions. The local people will entertain you with cultural dancing, music, craft making and story telling. Have lunch and thereafter continue to another village to see a different lifestyle of the Ugandan community. In your visit to the villages, you will also be able to tour the Katereke Prison, which tells the story of a violent and brutal episode in the Buganda history. Nagalabi Colonial Site and many others. In the late evening the guide will drive you back to the hotel and you will still see many surprises en route. Overnight at Hotel Africana. (F/B).

Day 10: Transfer to the Airport back home

Go visit the Kasubi tombs, the king's palace and the museum, the kings man made lake etc before transferring to the airport to catch your flight back home.
