6 DAYS RWANDA GORILLA TOUR

Day 1: Travel to Rwanda

You will meet the guide on arrival at airport and then transfer to Kigali (Rwanda). You will be briefed about your safari. After lunch, depart for Parc National des Volcans at 2:00 pm. The journey goes through the attractive terraced hillsides that make up much of Rwanda’s landscape, gradually climbing to the base of the awesome Virunga volcanoes, sometimes with as many as five peaks visible. Dinner and overnight at Volcanoes Virunga Lodge (Full Board).

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking

Wake up early morning and go gorilla tracking in Parc National des Volcans. Tracking the gorillas in the light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virungas is an unforgettable experience. You mighty lucky and get to see how the gorillas behave, spend an hour with them, and then return back in time for a late lunch! However some gorilla families are more elusive and tracking can take a full day, especially when it is wet and muddy. Over night at Volcanoes Virunga Lodge (Full Board).

Day 3: Golden Monkeys, Dian Fossey's Grave & Ross Carrs Orphanage

Visit the golden monkeys or drive to Gisenyi, visit Ross Carr's orphanage and Lake Kivu or climb the Visoke/Muhavura volcanoes, trek to Dian Fossey's grave, visit the local school, community projects or walk to Lake Bulera. Overnight at Volcanoes Virunga Lodge (Full Board).

Day 4: Transfer to Uganda

Relax in the morning and have a walk near the Lodge, visit the golden monkeys or trek to Dian Fossey's grave. Then transfer to Uganda after lunch. Overnight at Volcanoes Mount Gahinga Lodge (Full Board).

Day 5: Gorilla tracking at Mgahinga

Either go gorilla tracking again, this time in Mgahinga, or climb a volcano, or go for a nature walk, or visit golden monkeys in Mgahinga. Overnight at Volcanoes Mount Gahinga Lodge (Full Board).

Day 6: Travel to Kigali (Rwanda)

Depart for Kigali in Rwanda. You will go for a tour of the city including a visit to the market, pottery project, handicraft shops, the Franco-Rwandan cultural centre and the genocide memorial. Transfer to the airport (Half Board).
