This 4 days Uganda Safari takes you to Bwindi Gorilla National Park and Ngamba Islands Chimpanzee sanctuary for both mountain gorilla tracking and chimp viewing. The safari starts with a chimpanzee tour that takes you through the beautiful evergreen Ngamba Island.Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary is found 23 Kilometers off shore from Entebbe on Lake Victoria. It is located on a beautiful forested island and is home to approximately 40 chimpanzees rescued from poachers and other forms of private captivity. The semi-wild environment on the island allows for close viewing of the chimps in their natural habitat.
The safari will later take you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for a gorilla tour that will involve you in tracking the endangered mountain gorillas. Trekking through the montane thick forest of Bwindi is not only interested but also rewarding since it will enable you to look into deep into the expressive brown eyes of the endangered mountain gorillas. The safari will later back track you into Kampala, the Capital of Uganda.
Have breakfast in the morning and drive off to Entebbe Airport to the jetty which will transfer you to Ngamba Island. The Island is a chimpanzee sanctuary managed by the Jane Goodall Institute. The chimpanzees are usually got from the wild and they are looked after, most especially those that are infants and can not take care of themselves. You will reach in time for feeding the Chimpanzee and this will give you a chance to watch them feed. Spend about 1 hour with the chimps and later in the afternoon transfer back to Entebbe. Dinner and overnight at Botanical beach Hotel / Kampala Serena.
Have breakfast in the morning and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable forest. This journey will take you south west of Uganda. To stop at the equator for photographs and continue to Mbarara where you will have another stop for lunch and then proceed to reach Bwindi in the late afternoon. In the evening you may go for a community walk where you will be entertained in some of the cultural dance of the community. Dinner and overnight at the Gorilla resort / Buhoma homestead / Buhoma community Bandas.
Wake up and prepare for the unforgettable experience. You will have breakfast to transfer to the park headquarters for briefing before setting off to the forest in search for gorillas. The guide will brief you and at 9:00 am you will set off to the forest for these apes. The time you will take searching these humble apes is unpredictable however it ranges between 2-9 hours depending on their movement. The activity requires you to go through steep rocks climbing up and down making it tiresome, however the thrill of encountering these giant primates erases the poor memories you went through in trying to find them. Dinner and over night at Gorilla Resort / Buhoma homestead.
After these extra-ordinary experiences we have to go back to Kampala. Have breakfast and hit the road to Kampala. You will have a stop in any of the districts for lunch to reach Kampala in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Africana / Serena hotel.
